POEM FROM THE RIME OF THE ANCIENT RHYMER
Wild flowers grow in the tall waving grass
Nature
at its finest. Featuring the colours
Of
the rainbow in a crown of splendour
Intermingling
with the choir of birds
All
under a clear blue sky of
Such
brightness and brilliance
As
to blind one’s eyes with
Beauty,
and alert the mind
Where
hazy mounds surround
And
protect, and meandering streams
Wind
hither and thither feeding the
Land
with moisture, replenishing life
Grazing
cattle and horses enjoy
The
abundance, while a passing deer
Intermingles
for a short while
And
no one minds the company
Jagged
rocks line the streams
And
birds of that nature take
The
opportunity to build nests
Where
safety is mostly guaranteed
All
is peaceful under a rising sun, a new
Day
has begun. The bees, busy as usual
The
butterflies happy to be alive. The richness
Of
the land, only some will understand
